EMC GLOBAL (Location: Musashino, Tokyo; Representative Director: Tatsuya Tsubuki; hereinafter "EMC GLOBAL"), an organization aiming to produce talent with global entrepreneurship from a "United Asia," announces that Yoichi Ito has stepped down as Representative Director, and Tatsuya Tsubuki, previously a Director, has been appointed as the new Representative Director, effective March 3, 2026.
■ Background and Future Outlook of the Leadership Change
EMC GLOBAL began as the name of a global entrepreneurship development project conducted by the Musashino University Faculty of Entrepreneurship—the only faculty in Japan specializing in entrepreneurship—after being selected for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's "FY2023 University-Originated Startup Creation Support Project." During the project period, it achieved significant results, such as planning multiple pitch tours aimed at fostering exchanges among global talent in India, the Philippines, Singapore, and Indonesia. Following the conclusion of the project at the end of March 2025, the organization was incorporated as a general incorporated association to continue its initiatives.
In September 2025, it was also selected for "TOKYO SUTEAM," a startup support project promoted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and has begun full-scale efforts to foster global entrepreneurs.
Incoming Representative Director Tsubuki is a former employee of the electronics manufacturer Matsushita Electric Industrial (now Panasonic Corporation), where he gained experience stationed in Indonesia as an overseas sales representative. He possesses extensive business experience and deep insight into the Asian region, having been involved in launching businesses in Hong Kong and establishing a university in Cambodia. He currently serves as the Department Chair at the Musashino University Faculty of Entrepreneurship.
As his business career coincides with Japan's "Lost 30 Years," he holds a strong desire for "young Japanese people to look more toward Asia and become individuals with global entrepreneurship." Yoichi Ito fully supported this vision, leading to the birth of EMC GLOBAL. The organization's vision of "producing talent with global entrepreneurship from a United Asia" is a reflection of this sentiment.
With EMC GLOBAL's activities now in full swing, this leadership change was made to further accelerate the project by appointing Tsubuki, who was the original catalyst for the project's inception, as the representative.
Under the new structure, the organization will continue to strengthen partnerships with companies and local governments, including exhibiting at "SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026" in April 2026, and will powerfully lead the construction of a global startup ecosystem originating from Asia.

Outgoing Representative Director: Yoichi Ito
From the establishment of EMC GLOBAL to this day, I have been supported by many people, and we have been able to build a wonderful place where students from Japan and abroad can take on challenges. By passing the baton of leadership to Tsubuki-san, who has led numerous projects on the front lines, EMC GLOBAL will move into its next phase of growth. I will continue to work with EMC GLOBAL as a Director, continuing to nurture the young people who will build our future together.
