Tokyo Metropolitan Government, TIB, N9, and TIMEWELL Partner to Launch Internship Program with Overseas Startups at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026! Student Recruitment Begins!

EMC GLOBAL (Location: Musashino City, Tokyo; Representative Director: Tatsuya Tsubuki), a general incorporated association aiming to produce globally entrepreneurial talent from United Asia, will collaborate with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Tokyo Innovation Base (TIB), N9 PTE LTD, and TIMEWELL Co., Ltd. to implement the "University Internship Program at SusHi Tech Tokyo." This program will place students with overseas startups exhibiting at "SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026," a global innovation conference held from April 27 (Mon) to April 29 (Wed/Holiday), 2026. Accordingly, recruitment for students participating in this program begins today.

■ Key Points of This Matter
EMC GLOBAL, in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, TIB, N9, and TIMEWELL, will implement the "University Internship Program at SusHi Tech Tokyo" at SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026.
Student interns will support overseas startups with their arrival in Japan, exhibition assistance at "SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026," and Japanese language support during business negotiations, thereby accelerating co-creation between overseas startups and Japanese companies.
Student recruitment begins today, March 31 (Tuesday).
Most participating students last year responded that they "would recommend it to friends" (*1).
This year, "Stamen" from Tokyo Innovation Base (TIB) has decided to cooperate.
We are also recruiting sponsoring companies that resonate with the program's philosophy and wish to co-create the future, as well as overseas startups to host interns.
*1 Based on a participant survey (n=30). Recorded an NPS (Net Promoter Score) of 73, an indicator evaluating how likely participants are to recommend the program to friends on a scale of 0-10.

■ Objectives of the Internship Program
(1) Fostering student entrepreneurship through cross-border business
We aim to provide Japanese university students with practical experience through on-site support in international business, thereby fostering entrepreneurship. For startups, this program is expected to secure personnel for their exhibition at "SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026" and provide Japanese language support during business negotiations.

(2) Accelerating business co-creation between overseas startups and the Japanese market
Interning students will provide cultural and linguistic translation, gather market needs for service development, and prepare logistics to support overseas startups' business entry and expansion in Japan. This will accelerate the entry of overseas startups into Japan and the co-creation of new businesses with Japanese companies.

(3) Aiming to form international startup teams in the future
Through this program, we aim to continuously provide an environment for students to work at overseas startups, ultimately leading to the formation of multinational startup teams.

■ Specific Implementation Details
2-3 university students will be matched as interns with one overseas startup. After self-studying about their assigned company, students will begin online support for the startup's arrival in Japan. During the conference period, they will provide on-site exhibition support, Japanese language assistance during business negotiations, and, if requested by the startup, facilitate matching with Japanese companies. This year, "Stamen" from Tokyo Innovation Base (TIB) has also decided to cooperate, establishing a system where adult supporters accompany and mentor students.

■ Past Achievements
This program has been held annually since SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024, making this its third iteration.
In last year's program, 29 students from across Japan were dispatched to 7 startups (*2). As a result, the following achievements were made:

1. Accelerated co-creation between overseas startups and Japanese companies, with a startup supported by interns winning the "SusHi Tech Award." Interns also contributed to significant lead generation, acquiring approximately 360 business cards per company.
2. Students' "entrepreneurial scores" (9 items including innovativeness, logical thinking, and proactiveness) improved across all categories before and after the program.
3. 60% of participating students gave a satisfaction rating of "10 (highest score)," and 63% responded that they "would recommend it to friends." Comments included: "My language skills and practical business skills were honed," and "My perspective and motivation expanded explosively."
*2 One of the 7 companies was EMC GLOBAL, a domestic organization that gained global business experience by collaborating with all overseas startups participating in the internship program.

■ Internship Participant Recruitment Guidelines
We are recruiting students who wish to participate in this program and experience world-class business environments with overseas startups.

■ Eligibility
Students aged 18 or older enrolled in universities, graduate schools, colleges of technology (4th year or above), or vocational schools (nationality is not a barrier).
Those with English proficiency sufficient for work.
Applications from remote locations are possible (however, during the main conference period, work will be at Tokyo Big Sight).

■ Internship Benefits
Actual transportation costs to SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026 (Tokyo Big Sight) will be subsidized (limited to domestic travel).
Provision of an original internship T-shirt with the startup's logo.
*This is an unpaid internship program, so no daily allowance will be provided.
