- About the Elleair Egao ni Touch Project -
■Background of the Project Launch
The proportion of single-person households increased from 29.5% in 2005 to 38.1%*2 in 2020, leading to a decrease in family interactions due to the rise in smaller households. In addition, the spread of social media has reduced opportunities for real-life interactions. Furthermore, the COVID-19 pandemic made social distancing and telework commonplace, rapidly decreasing face-to-face communication. Elleair, a brand that wishes to gently support the happiness of each individual from birth to care, launched the "Elleair Egao ni Touch Project" in April 2022 with the desire to increase happiness and smiles by encapsulating irreplaceable human interactions in the term "Essential Touch."

■Main Activities of the Project
➀Dissemination of Essential Touch Videos
Two videos were produced to provide an opportunity to consider the importance of "Essential Touch." They depict protagonists of various ages finding smiles through casual interactions (Essential Touch). These videos are available on the project's special website.

➁Dissemination of "Touching" Know-how: Physical and Emotional Interaction
Interaction includes "physical" touches such as holding hands, stroking, and hugging, and "emotional" touches such as making eye contact, being kind, and expressing gratitude. This project aims to convey the importance of these two types of interaction and, under the supervision of experts, has developed and disseminated touching know-how to effectively secrete the happiness hormone "oxytocin" through a special website and the "Essential Touch Book."
