This will enable various procedures and renewals, which previously required phone calls, mail, or visits to airport/city counters, to be handled online through the JMB App. Furthermore, it will prevent fraudulent use through identity verification via IC chip reading and facial recognition, realizing more robust security.

◾️Background

The "JMB App" is a digital membership card and smartphone payment service provided by Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. It allows users to "earn" and "use" miles through daily shopping.

Liquid will now provide its online identity verification service "LIQUID eKYC" to the "JMB App".

This will enable identity verification for email address changes, name changes, card reissuances*1, and registration for various discount fares from the JMB App to be completed online. Traditional in-person, phone, and mail procedures will no longer be necessary, significantly reducing the time to complete procedures.

It will also reduce the operational burden on back offices, alleviate airport congestion by reducing the burden on airport counter procedures, and enhance security through stricter identity verification.

The decision to select "LIQUID eKYC" was driven by its ability to simultaneously solve the challenges of usability and operational efficiency associated with analog identity verification methods like in-person and mail, as well as the need to improve the security of customer assets against frequent fraudulent mileage use.

The adoption of the front-and-back photo method also supports enhanced security while ensuring user convenience.
