Editorial Engineering Laboratory Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, President: Akiko Ando) will hold an online public event, 'AIDA OP (Aida Open) 2026', on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, ahead of Season 7, scheduled to start in October 2026. This event is to experience the philosophy and learning of the intellectual program 'Hyper-Editing Platform [AIDA]' that they host. https://www.eel.co.jp/topics/event/7003
The Hyper-Editing Platform [AIDA] is a liberal arts program where leaders who will pioneer the coming era practically learn 'editorial thinking' while traversing diverse knowledge such as life, history, culture, and science, backed by the philosophy of Seigo Matsuoka, founder of Editorial Engineering Laboratory.
In this public event, inviting Edo culture researcher Yuko Tanaka as a guest, there will be discussions on the theme of how thinking should be in the AI era, and the thinking processes of business leaders actually participating will be shared.
■ Background: Are we leaving thinking behind in a sea of efficient 'methods'?
Learning options such as reskilling and AI utilization are increasing more than ever. On the other hand, not a few business leaders feel that 'although knowledge is increasing, thinking is not deepening'.
In an era where AI provides answers instantly, what is questioned is not what you know, but how to create the premise of thinking, that is, where to think from. [AIDA] is a place to practice 'editorial thinking' that questions this premise and reweaves the relationship between the world and oneself.
Why do frontline leaders gather at [AIDA] now? There is a process of facing the nature of thinking itself, which is different from learning aimed at efficiency or results.
In this event, we plan a program where you can feel a part of what business leaders are learning at [AIDA] by opening up a part of the thinking site that [AIDA] shares with the 'Zashu' (participants).
■ AIDA OP 2026 - Simulated experience of [AIDA]'s thinking site
Welcoming Yuko Tanaka, an Edo culture researcher and AIDA board member, we will discuss how thinking should be in a complex era under the theme of 'Japanese-style leadership'. In addition, active business leaders actually participating in [AIDA] will take the stage to share the process and experiences of their transformation, such as what questions they faced and how they changed.
◆ AIDA Session: Questioning 'Japanese-style leadership'
Together with AIDA board member and Edo culture researcher Yuko Tanaka, and AIDA participant Mizuki Hashimoto, Executive Officer and Chief Brand Officer of Shiseido Co., Ltd., we will discuss how ancient Japanese methodologies of accepting complexity as it is can become a new 'stance' in modern leadership.
◆ Participant Talk: What do business leaders learn at [AIDA]?
Welcoming AIDA participants Manabu Onomura, Founder/President and CEO of Founders Coach Co., Ltd., and Hiroyuki Araki, President and CEO of Manabi Design Co., Ltd., leaders active on the front lines of business will talk about how their thinking and values changed along with the realization of 'why is it necessary to question the premise of the reality we see now?'.
At the venue (Book Salon Space 'Honro'), we have prepared a 'Networking Event (with light meals)' where speakers and participants can exchange words after the session. It will be an experience unique to [AIDA] to share realizations born within the dialogue and margins of the day.
* On-site participation at the venue is limited to 20 people.
