EDUCOM Transitions to a Dual Representative Director System with Hirotaka Koyanagi and Taihei Kobayashi

EDUCOM Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Aichi and Tokyo, hereinafter EDUCOM), which provides school support systems to elementary, junior high, and high schools nationwide, announced that effective April 1, 2026, its representative director system will change. Taihei Kobayashi, the current Representative Director CEO & COO, will assume the role of Representative Director Chairman, and Hirotaka Koyanagi, the current Director, will be appointed Representative Director President.

With this new management structure of two representative directors, EDUCOM will further accelerate business growth and strengthen its organizational foundation.

■ Background and Purpose of the New System Transition

Since its establishment over 30 years ago, EDUCOM has supported ICT utilization that closely aligns with the needs of schools nationwide. Amidst the rapidly increasing demand for educational DX, this transition to a dual representative director system aims to optimize EDUCOM's management resources and expedite decision-making.

Furthermore, with the integration and merger of its parent company, Classi Co., Ltd., into Benesse Corporation (hereinafter Benesse), Benesse will become EDUCOM's parent company effective April 1, 2026. As a member of the Benesse Corporation Group, EDUCOM will continue to leverage its business uniqueness and strengths to achieve further development.

As the environment surrounding the education sector undergoes significant changes, EDUCOM will further strengthen its role as an education DX partner rooted in on-site needs.

Representative Director Chairman Taihei Kobayashi will leverage his extensive management experience to ensure the succession of EDUCOM's philosophy and corporate culture and to promote mid- to long-term strategies.

Representative Director President Hirotaka Koyanagi will drive EDUCOM's business expansion and create new value, utilizing the knowledge and expertise cultivated at Benesse.

■ Biography of New Representative Director President Hirotaka Koyanagi

After joining Benesse Corporation, he was responsible for sales operations targeting compulsory education in the Elementary and Junior High School Business Division.

In 2010, as Head of Sales, he oversaw all administrative and school sales.

From April 2021, as General Manager of the Elementary and Junior High School Business Headquarters, he was responsible for all support businesses for compulsory education.

In April 2023, he was appointed Director of EDUCOM Co., Ltd.

In April 2026, he will assume the position of Representative Director President of the same company.
