"Japan and me." Artist Ryo Shinagawa × HIBIKA

Ryo Shinagawa's work "Spring"

"Seasonal Confectionery Shop HIBIKA" is a Western confectionery brand with the concept of "Japanese-style Western confectionery."

"Japan and me." is an event held at Hankyu Umeda Main Store that rediscovers the appeal of Japan's nature, craftsmanship, and culture.

As part of this initiative, HIBIKA collaborated with artist Ryo Shinagawa—who has gained a following among younger generations by reinterpreting traditional Japanese painting in a contemporary style—to create cakes that incorporate a new dimension of "expressing art and drawing inspiration from art."

Shinagawa's work "Spring," created for "Japan and me.," served as the foundation. To convey the hints of spring, softness, and variety of textures found in the artwork, HIBIKA crafted two cakes with careful attention to both visual presentation and flavor composition.

These cakes offer fresh enjoyment for both fans of Shinagawa's work and fans of HIBIKA alike.
