Seasonal confectionery shop HIBIKA, which delivers seasonal sweets for every time of the year based on the concept of new "Japanese Western-style confections," will be selling limited-edition collaboration cakes from Wednesday, April 1st to Tuesday, April 28th.

"Seasonal confectionery shop HIBIKA" is a Western-style confectionery brand based on the concept of "Japanese Western-style confections."

"Japan and me." is an event held at the Hankyu Umeda Main Store to rediscover the charm of Japanese nature, technology, and culture.

As part of this initiative, we have collaborated with the works of painter Ryo Shinagawa—who has garnered support from the next generation by expressing traditional Japanese painting in a modern style—to create cakes that incorporate a new appeal of "expressing art and being inspired by art."

The cakes were crafted based on Mr. Shinagawa's artwork "Spring," created for "Japan and me." We focused on the composition of both appearance and taste so that customers can feel the arrival of spring, its softness, and the various textures embedded in the work, translating them into two distinct cakes.

These cakes offer a fresh delight for both those familiar with Mr. Shinagawa's work and fans of HIBIKA.

A cake that incorporates "Spring" into its appearance. Inspired by the artwork, we finished it with a composition reminiscent of a flavored tea where various fruits and other elements overlap delicately. We wrapped cherry and strawberry gelée, as well as strawberry and raspberry mousse, inside an Earl Grey tea mousse. The brilliant colors of the artwork are expressed through the cherry and berries, paired with Earl Grey.

A cake that pays homage to the gold color frequently used in Mr. Shinagawa's works. The flavor was inspired by "Spring"; we wrapped apricot gelée and milk chocolate mousse inside an orange mousse. The gentle sweetness of the milk chocolate and the refreshing taste of the orange spread in the mouth. It is decorated with apricot glaze and sweet-and-sour strawberries for a gorgeous finish.
