Yutaka Kamioka, Chairman of the NPO Ecology Online, will speak at the talk event "Stories of Recovery with Music and Art: Care that Embraces the Downward Slope," to be held in Kokubunji City, Tokyo, on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

This event is part of "Koku-Fes Music Days 2026" and aims to be a space where patients, medical professionals, and local residents can think together about "care tips" that address daily struggles and life's challenges through music and art.

■ Background: From the experience of losing language to coexistence with AI and music

Yutaka Kamioka, who has promoted SDGs and environmental activities as Chairman of Ecology Online, experienced "aphasia"—the loss of language—following a stroke in early 2024. However, he made a remarkable return to work by utilizing music and AI (artificial intelligence).

He is currently involved in "User Research" at the University of Tokyo, developing unique activities that integrate disaster prevention and support for people with disabilities, gained from his new perspective as a person with a disability. At this live event, Kamioka will share his own "story of recovery" and discuss the possibilities for society opened up by coexistence with AI.

■ Event Highlights

Sharing the "Story of Recovery": Kamioka will discuss care from multiple perspectives alongside Motoharu Fukushi, Director of Musashikokubunji Park Clinic, who incorporates music and art into home medical care, and Kenichi Muraoka, who conducts "Portrait Therapy" in medical facilities.

Care Felt Through the Five Senses: The event will feature live painting by Mr. Muraoka and musical performances by pianist Yukiko Tanaka and opera singer Kento Moritake, creating communication that transcends words.
