Eat & Group's cafe bakery business, R Baker Co., Ltd. (Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Mitsuhiko Hiroya), announces the introduction of R Baker bread at "Touin-ya," the cafeteria located in Shiga Prefecture's Otsu Biwako Joint Government Building.

Under the key concept of "Transforming health value into solid business value," R Baker has launched store deployment projects targeting large general hospitals, medical malls, employee cafeterias, and facilities for elderly care and education welfare.

Following the opening of the "Kanto Neurosurgical Hospital Cafeteria Terrace Store" (Kumagaya City, Saitama Prefecture) last year, this marks the second project in the series. R Baker will begin selling its healthy bread at "Touin-ya," a first-floor cafeteria in the Otsu Biwako Joint Government Building in Shiga Prefecture.

"Touin-ya" has previously served meals such as set menus to government staff, related personnel, and visiting citizens. With this renovation and reopening, the addition of R Baker bread to the existing cafeteria menu will expand dining options by offering greater convenience and health-conscious choices, meeting the diverse needs of facility users.

Strong Compatibility with Medical and Public Facilities

This latest introduction represents a new store deployment model following previous models in hospitals and dedicated sandwich bread stores. Leveraging R Baker's product development expertise and stable ingredient supply system, we aim to enhance the value of food services within existing cafeteria operations while contributing to sustainable facility management.

R Baker focuses on creating "healthy deliciousness" suitable for daily consumption, including bread made with natural yeast from roses, vegetables, and fruits, low-carbohydrate bread, and bread made with domestically produced rice flour. These offerings provide appealing dining solutions that enhance daily meal satisfaction for health-conscious facility users.

Cafeterias within joint government buildings serve a stable customer base, including staff, affiliated personnel, and visiting citizens. This consistent demand, relatively unaffected by external economic fluctuations, represents a significant advantage for this initiative.

R Baker will strengthen its partner-based expansion model tailored to the unique characteristics of locations such as hospitals, public facilities, and employee cafeterias. Through health-oriented products, we aim to simultaneously enhance dining experiences for facility users and address operational challenges for facility management.

About R Baker

Guided by the philosophy "Delicious bread for the mind and body," R Baker carefully selects ingredients to craft its bread. In particular, emphasizing both health and contributing to Japan's food self-sufficiency, we primarily use domestically produced rice flour. By blending rice flour using our original method, our bread features a uniquely soft and moist texture. We also focus on using body-friendly ingredients to create bread that supports internal health. At our central kitchen in Yamanashi Prefecture, skilled artisans meticulously produce frozen dough, which is then delivered to stores. Time-intensive processes such as croissant production and dough preparation are completed at the central kitchen, enabling simplified operations at retail locations where bread is simply baked fresh.

We believe one loaf of bread can help create one person's fulfilling moment. With this vision, we dedicate ourselves to bread-making every day.
