Eat and Holdings Co., Ltd. (Tokyo, Shinagawa Ward; President and CEO: Mitsuhiko Hiroya), which handles the cafe bakery business within the Eat and Group, will launch a new product, 'Anpan,' using a variety of fillings, at its bakery cafe brand 'R Baker' and other 48 stores nationwide starting Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
R Baker's concept is 'Delicious bread for body and soul.' They create bread with a chewy and moist texture, primarily using carefully selected domestic rice flour. Their signature product, 'Nobi-ru Croissant,' has garnered immense popularity, with 5 million views on social media and selling 5,000 units daily. The new texture dorayaki, 'Age-dora,' which became a topic of conversation as a 2025 trend 'Neo-Japanese Sweets,' is also an R Baker product. Following these successes, they have newly developed 'Anpan,' a bakery staple. This new 'Anpan' features a variety of fillings and offers a novel taste and appearance.
The newly launched 'Anpan' is characterized by an amount of filling that exceeds the bread dough itself. There are eight types of fillings. In addition to standard options like 'Dainagon,' featuring large, voluminous beans, and 'Shiro-kuro Koshi-an,' made with Hokkaido-produced adzuki beans to savor their original flavor, there are also unique combinations. These include 'Shiro-an/Choco/Kurumi,' a blend of white bean paste and chocolate with the satisfying crunch of walnuts; 'Yuzu/Sakura,' a combination of pink cherry blossom bean paste and yuzu bean paste; and 'Kabocha/Satsumaimo,' featuring pumpkin paste made from Hokkaido pumpkin and diced sweet potato. Other flavors include 'Kurogoma/Murasaki-imo,' 'Cafe au Lait/Kocha,' and 'Matcha/Ichigo.' This 'Anpan' offers a satisfying volume for red bean paste lovers and is visually delightful with its vibrant colors.
Furthermore, a special gift box designed to hold four 'Anpan' has been prepared. This is an unprecedentedly new 'Anpan,' imagined as a luxury Japanese confection, suitable for gifting and as a souvenir.
