Urokoya Sohonten, a long-established company founded 342 years ago (Headquarters: Obanazawa City, Yamagata Prefecture; President and CEO: Satoru Toda), has set a goal of "communicating the value of traditions protected for 340 years in a new form and passing them on to the next generation." Coinciding with the "Spring Fire Prevention Campaign" from April 9 (Thursday) to 22 (Wednesday), 2026, the company will launch a limited-edition "Kujiramochi" in official collaboration with Naoki Prize-winning author Shogo Imamura's anime "Hikuitori Ushu Borotobigumi."

This project, in cooperation with the local Murayama-sangyo High School and the fire department, positions the traditional food that served as military rations for the Shinjo Domain as a "symbol of disaster prevention awareness," rolling out community safety activities where the government, academia, private sector, and arts are united.
