For the 2026 campaign, the brand has added Junretsu — a popular three-member mood enka chorus group beloved across generations — as new endorsers. The event brought together Higo Katsuhisa and Jimon Terakado from Dachou Club, Kintarou., and Junretsu members Ikkei Sakai, Yujiro Shirakawa, and Shota Goue.

Known by the nickname 'Super Sentō Idol,' Junretsu is cherished for their warm vocals and stage presence that transcend age groups. At the start of the event, President Daishi Katsura delivered a business overview. He highlighted that since the company's founding in 2000 and the opening of the first 'Otakaraya' store in Yokohama, it has spent a quarter-century focusing on the core values of reuse: 'accurate appraisal' and 'customer trust.'

As of June 2026, 'Takakau Kaitori Otakaraya' operates 1,830 stores worldwide. Financially, the company achieved record-breaking sales of 98.9 billion JPY in its 26th fiscal period and is projecting to surpass 200 billion JPY in its ongoing 27th fiscal period.

To support this growth, Katsura introduced the company's proprietary 'AI Authentication System,' developed in-house ahead of the industry. Leveraging vast accumulated data, this system accurately detects counterfeit items and is deployed across all domestic and international locations, enabling appraisal accuracy equivalent to Japan's standards even in culturally and linguistically diverse overseas markets.

Katsura explained that this AI system is a key enabler of accelerated global expansion. In 2025, the company launched its first Hong Kong store in February, followed by entries into Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Thailand, establishing a solid foothold across five Asian markets. In 2026, it opened its second Hong Kong store in Mong Kok in April and its third Singapore store in May within 'Lucky Plaza' on Orchard Road. The company also plans to open a new store in Sydney, Australia, within the year and is pushing forward with plans to open 30 new stores across its international markets by year-end.

Katsura concluded his remarks by declaring, 'From being Japan's top player to becoming a globally trusted Otakaraya,' signaling the company's determination to enter a new phase of growth.
