[Dusit International] Japan's First "Dusit Collection" Hotel to Open in Lake Toya, Hokkaido

Dusit International, a leading hotel and real estate development company in Thailand, will rebrand the resort facility in Lake Toya, Hokkaido, previously operating as "WE Hotel Toya," to "WE Hotel Toya - Dusit Collection" and reopen it on July 1, 2026 (Wed). This marks the first launch of a "Dusit Collection" brand facility in Japan, and it will be the third property operated by Dusit International in the Japanese market, following the community-focused lifestyle hotel "ASAI Kyoto Shijo" and the Michelin-starred luxury hotel "Dusit Thani Kyoto." To commemorate the opening under the new facility name, "WE Hotel Toya - Dusit Collection" will offer a promotional plan with a 20% discount on stays including dinner and breakfast, valid for stays from July 1 (Wed) to September 30 (Wed).

Located on the shores of Lake Toya, a UNESCO Global Geopark, this resort offers magnificent views of Hokkaido's natural landscape. In this rebranding, we will enhance our unique value proposition while leveraging the architectural beauty created by world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma, which has been cherished since the hotel's opening. Kengo Kuma's stylish design masterfully expresses the harmony between Japanese aesthetics and the scenery of the lake and mountains through a delicate wooden facade inspired by Lake Toya's nature and a spatial beauty created by three-dimensional fabrics.

Reconstructing Culinary Concepts to Offer Restaurants and Bars Enjoying Dusit's Worldview

With this rebranding, we have curated a range of dining facilities that allow guests to experience Hokkaido's rich nature and food culture even more deeply. While strengthening our commitment to sustainability, we will express Dusit's unique worldview through "food" by incorporating the essence of Thai cuisine.

Our signature restaurant, "EZO Cuisine," will offer dishes that fuse Japanese cuisine with French techniques, valuing the connection with the climate of Hokkaido, including Lake Toya, and its producers. Breakfast will feature set menus using local vegetables, Hokkaido-produced rice, freshwater fish, and high-quality dairy products, complemented by original morning herbal teas and seasonal juices made with herbs grown on sustainable Hokkaido farms, creating a refreshing start to the day. Dinner will primarily consist of daily changing course menus, with plans to offer authentic Thai cuisine courses for a limited time.

"La Saison" will serve authentic Thai noodle dishes such as ramen made with Hokkaido ingredients, fragrant and spicy Tom Yum noodles, and Khao Soi, a Northern Thai coconut-based curry noodle. At "TARU Bar," guests can enjoy the beauty of Japanese aging and craftsmanship with a curated selection of organic Japanese teas produced at our own "Dusit Tea Garden" in Wazuka Town, Kyoto, alongside sake, whisky, and craft liqueurs.

Lake View Rooms with Open-Air Baths Remain Unchanged

All 55 lake view rooms (approx. 37 sqm) are equipped with balconies featuring hinoki cypress open-air baths. The spacious villa-type rooms (186.2 sqm) are ideal for families and groups. In addition to a large public bath overlooking Lake Toya, open-air baths are also available in the guest rooms, allowing guests to fully enjoy the hot springs.
