Dusit Thani Kyoto (Location: Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto; General Manager: Makoto Yamashita), a luxury hotel operated by Dusit International, a leading Thai hotel and real estate development company, will be holding events and promotions themed around the traditional Thai New Year celebration, the 'Songkran Festival,' for the second consecutive year from Saturday, April 11th to Wednesday, April 15th, at various locations within the hotel. In line with our brand promise to 'Deliver Thai DNA from Kyoto,' we will express the charm of Songkran, one of Thailand's representative festivals, through a program filled with our unique sense of luxury.

During the aforementioned period, our all-day dining restaurant 'Kati,' which has received two stars from 'Thai Select,' a certification from the Thai Ministry of Commerce recognizing it as an 'authentic Thai restaurant,' will offer a special lunch buffet featuring authentic Thai cuisine prepared by Thai chefs, as well as visually delightful Thai sweets such as durian cheesecake and Khanom Roomklue. Furthermore, to allow guests to enjoy the atmosphere of the 'Songkran Festival,' we will also present vibrant Thai dance and Muay Thai performances, as well as traditional purification rituals.

At Dusit Thani, which originated in Thailand, 'locality' is positioned as one of the brand's pillars, and we strive to promote Thai culture and create communities together with our staff, local residents, and guests. The Songkran Festival, also known as the 'Water Splashing Festival,' is Thailand's largest New Year event and is registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. At Dusit Thani Kyoto, we have celebrated this traditional event, which involves washing away the misfortunes of the past year with water and praying for good fortune, annually with the local community since our opening, with the hope of becoming a bridge between Thailand and Japan. In its third year, this Songkran Festival will place even greater emphasis on the buffet, featuring a wider array of Thai cuisine and colorful, rare sweets, offering an opportunity to enjoy a sophisticated hospitality unique to a luxury Thai hotel brand and a festive moment filled with exotic charm, characteristic of Dusit Thani Kyoto.
