The Japan Drone Business Support Association (Headquarters: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture; Representative Director: Koji Morimoto; hereinafter "DBA") has announced a business partnership with Delta Electronics, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Hua Chien-Hao; hereinafter "Delta Electronics"), effective March 2026. This partnership aims to promote the nationwide adoption of drone-based infrastructure inspections and expand business opportunities for drone pilots. By rolling out Delta Electronics' comprehensive AI inspection management system, "SKYINSPECT AI," the companies aim to create new market opportunities.
Background of the Partnership
This partnership is driven by the growing severity of infrastructure aging in Japan and the urgent need to improve inspection efficiency and address labor shortages. As social infrastructure, including bridges and solar power facilities, reaches a major renewal phase, there is an urgent need to adopt efficient, high-precision inspection methods to replace traditional visual inspections.
DBA has cultivated expertise in implementing drone technology for social infrastructure through a network of over 130 drone business pilot locations nationwide. Delta Electronics provides high-precision AI diagnostics in the fields of solar panel inspection (SPIMS) and bridge inspection (BIDS) through its "SKYINSPECT AI" system.
BIDS was registered with NETIS (New Technology Information System of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) in January 2026, and both SPIMS and BIDS are certified as tools eligible for IT introduction subsidies, creating a supportive environment for implementation. Both companies aim to jointly provide new value to the market through drone and AI-powered infrastructure inspections.
