Dream Arts, a provider of cloud services for large enterprises (Headquarters: Shibuya, Tokyo; President: Takaaki Yamamoto), announced that the National University Corporation University of Tsukuba (Headquarters: Tsukuba, Ibaraki; President: Kyosuke Nagata) has adopted and begun operating the 'SmartDB' business digitalization cloud for large enterprises. The University of Tsukuba adopted SmartDB as its campus-wide DX platform, with phased implementation starting in March 2026. The university aims to eventually scale this to approximately 20,000 users, including students, to advance the digitalization of operational processes across the entire university.
Establishing a DX Foundation for a Next-Generation University The University of Tsukuba has set the goal of building a next-generation university based on a digital society in its 'University of Tsukuba Vision 2030.' To achieve this, the 'Information Management Office,' which oversees DX and Institutional Research (IR) for the entire university, is leading the review and digitalization of operational processes. As part of these efforts, SmartDB, a no-code development platform, was introduced to create an environment where diverse university operations can be managed and shared on a digital foundation. This implementation is expected to facilitate the digitalization of various tasks and drive the efficiency of university operations.
Utilization of SmartDB A document management system was built on SmartDB, and operations began for some staff in March 2026. This system allows for the centralized management of document registration, circulation, approval, and storage on a digital platform. This is expected to improve the efficiency of document management and visualize operational processes.
Phased University-wide Rollout The University of Tsukuba plans to expand the scope of use through a phased rollout. Starting with approximately 2,500 administrative staff in June 2026, the university aims to eventually expand to approximately 18,000 faculty and students, targeting a total of 20,000 users as a campus-wide DX foundation.
Dream Arts will continue to provide total solutions that contribute to 'strengthening on-site capabilities' and 'improving corporate competitiveness' based on its philosophy of 'co-creation.'
