ORION Launches Basic Room Series LCD TVs Focused on Energy Savings and Broadcast Viewing

Doshisha Corporation, which plans, develops, and sells lifestyle-related products, announced the launch of the ORION Basic Room Series LCD TVs under the ORION brand. The series omits internet connectivity and is designed specifically for watching terrestrial, BS, and CS broadcasts. The TVs will be sold through the official online store Doshisha Marche and mass retailers. The 24-inch and 40-inch models are scheduled to go on sale sequentially from mid-May 2026, while the 32-inch model is scheduled for release from mid-June 2026. The series features an ECO design that achieves a 100% energy-saving target. Compared with the company’s previous model, energy-saving performance has been significantly improved, with the energy-saving achievement rate improved by about 37%. By switching to power-saving mode, users can turn off the video and listen only to the audio, allowing the TV to be used like a radio during morning routines while reducing power consumption. The backlight brightness can also be adjusted, helping reduce electricity usage and household costs. The TVs also include a Blue Light Guard function that reduces blue light, considered one cause of eye fatigue, by approximately 50%. The feature can be switched on or off with a single remote-control operation, making it suitable for long viewing sessions, nighttime viewing, and use before bedtime. The design uses narrow bezels around the panel for a minimal look that blends into home interiors. The remote control is also designed with simple functions and intuitive usability. A built-in media player allows users to play videos, photos, and music stored on a USB memory device.
