Dole Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Hiroshi Aoki, President and CEO) announced the upcoming release of 'Re:GIN Mottainai Yuzu Gin Soda,' the first gin soda made from domestic 'Mottainai Yuzu' fruit, in collaboration with Ethical Spirits Co., Ltd. (Taito-ku, Tokyo; Riki Ono, President and CEO), a distillery dedicated to sustainable production. The product will be available in limited quantities at 350 Aeon and Aeon Retail stores across Honshu and Shikoku.

Kochi Yuzu Producers Join the 'Mottainai Fruit Action'

Dole is promoting the 'Mottainai Fruit Project' to eliminate fruit waste and is expanding this effort through the 'Mottainai Fruit Action,' a co-creation movement involving society. Ethical Spirits joined this project in January 2025, previously launching a gin made with 'Mottainai Bananas' called 'CACAO BANANA ÉTHIQUE.'

Building on this, yuzu producers from Tosayama, Kochi, have joined the movement. To create further value from unused resources, they have developed 'Re:GIN Mottainai Yuzu Gin Soda' using yuzu peels, which are typically discarded after the juice is extracted.

'Mottainai Yuzu' is an ingredient extracted at low temperatures without solvents or water, capturing the authentic aroma of the fruit. This canned gin soda offers a refreshing citrus scent the moment it is opened, making it suitable for leisure or relaxing at home. Dole remains committed to promoting ethical consumption and reducing food waste under its brand message, 'Smile with Fruit.'
