The Product will be available at Docomo Shops nationwide and the Docomo Online Shop from Tuesday, June 9, 2026. This is the first time a domestic telecommunications carrier has handled a glass film for smartphones with built-in screen crack insurance.
The annual number of domestic repairs for cracked screens due to smartphone drops is approximately 3.5 million units. For customers subscribed to the "smart Anshin Compensation" device protection service, which Docomo began offering in 2022, screen repairs via drop-off service cost between 3,300 yen and 5,500 yen (tax included), and replacements cost between 5,500 yen and 12,100 yen (tax included). To further reduce the financial burden on customers, Docomo is launching the glass film with built-in insurance that covers repair/replacement costs for cracked smartphone screens up to 10,000 yen (tax included).
If the smartphone screen (display) with the applicable glass film attached is damaged, the Insurance will pay a benefit of up to 10,000 yen (tax included) per incident for repair or replacement costs. Customers already subscribed to "smart Anshin Compensation" are eligible for the Insurance simply by purchasing the Product. After having the cracked screen repaired or replaced within one year of purchasing the Product, customers can claim the insurance benefit via a dedicated form. Customers who subscribe to "smart Anshin Compensation" after purchasing the Product are also eligible. Furthermore, if all specified conditions are met, repairs or replacements performed by third-party repair shops are also covered by the Insurance.

1. Coverage: Covers costs for repair or replacement of a damaged smartphone screen with the applicable glass film attached, up to a maximum of 10,000 yen (tax included) per incident.
2. Coverage Period: 1 year from the date of purchase of the Product (no waiting period).
3. Eligibility Conditions: Customers must meet all of the following conditions: ① The screen of the smartphone with the Product attached is damaged (damage only to the glass film is not covered). ② The damaged smartphone has been repaired or replaced. ③ The customer is subscribed to Docomo's "smart Anshin Compensation" at the time of claiming the insurance benefit. ④ The Product was purchased using the same account (d account) as the contract line for "smart Anshin Compensation". ⑤ The customer can provide all necessary documents for the claim.
