The Minecraft Cup Steering Committee (a specified non-profit organization, the Digital Manufacturing Council) conducts activities to deliver programming education and digital fabrication experiences to all children, based on the concept of "a place where everyone can challenge their potential." We are pleased to announce the holding of the "8th Minecraft Cup," a work contest using "Minecraft Education."

In fiscal year 2026, under the theme "A Future City for Generation Beta to Shine! - How to Live in a Society with Changing Population and Age Balances?", we will be soliciting works from 24 regional blocks nationwide (23 domestic + 1 overseas). This year, the division system has been abolished, and individuals can apply. The deadline for submission of works is September 7th at 17:00. After preliminary screening, district competitions, and area screening, the national competition and award ceremony will be held on February 14, 2027, at the University of Tokyo.

■ What is the Minecraft Cup?

The Minecraft Cup is a digital fabrication competition where children of high school age and younger create works in line with the competition theme using "Minecraft Education." It started in 2019, and to date, 21,577 people have entered, with a total of 3,603 works submitted.

Based on the concept of "a place where everyone can challenge their potential," we will create opportunities for children's curiosity and creativity to be demonstrated through the proactive experiences of researching, thinking, creating, and expressing. Participants will freely express their desire to make their local communities and society into "the world I want to see!" in the world of Minecraft, based on the competition theme. The collected works will undergo preliminary screening, district competitions, area screening, and a national competition in 24 district blocks divided across the nation and overseas, sharing the ideas and worldviews embedded in the works with many people.
