DU BOOKS (Disk Union Co., Ltd.) will publish 'Shibuya Culture Modernology: Life History of Toru Hashimoto (SUBURBIA)' by Waseda University Professor Tomoaki Hara on June 9, 2026, for 2,700 yen plus tax. The book details the life of Toru Hashimoto, editor, DJ, and owner of Cafe Apres-midi, who influenced Japan's city culture. It contains a complete color list of 383 compilations created by Hashimoto between 1992 and 2025. The cover art is designed by Jiro Fujita (FJD), known for Nujabes jacket artwork, and interior design is by Takeaki Emori. To celebrate the release, several promotional events are scheduled: a talk show on June 5 at Dai-kanyama Tsutaya Books; a talk show and live performance on June 12 at Tower Records Shibuya; a special broadcast on SUPER DOMMUNE on June 17; a cross-talk show on June 20 at NONLECTURE; a talk show on June 26 at HMV record shop Shibuya; and a talk show/live show on July 17 at Tower Records Shibuya. Popup fairs will also run at Dai-kanyama Tsutaya Books (June 1-11) and Tower Records Shibuya (June 9-22).
