<Cast> Mainoumi Shuhei

Born in 1968 in Ajigasawa Town, Nishitsugaru District, Aomori Prefecture, his real name is Shuhei Nagao. He was active in the Nihon University Sumo Club and aimed to enter professional sumo. However, he failed the first new recruit examination due to insufficient height. After undergoing surgery to insert silicone into his head, he passed the second time. He made his professional debut in 1990 as a Makushita-Tsukedashi and was promoted to the top division (Makuuchi) in 1991. Despite his small stature, he captivated audiences with his diverse techniques, outmaneuvering larger sumo wrestlers, earning him nicknames like "Department Store of Techniques" and "Ushiwakamaru of Heisei." His highest rank was East Komusubi, with a career record of 385 wins and 418 losses, and he received the Technique Prize five times. After retiring in 1999, he has been active as a commentator for NHK sumo broadcasts, a sportscaster, and a television personality.
