Christian Dior, a luxury brand, announced its support for the "Lebohang Kganye Exhibition" at the 14th KYOTOGRAPHIE Kyoto International Photography Festival. The festival will take place in Kyoto from April 18 to May 17, 2026. The exhibition will feature works by South African artist Lebohang Kganye, known for her integration of photography, video, and installations to explore personal memory and collective history through archival research and reinterpretation. The venue for the exhibition is the Daikangen of Higashi Hongan-ji Temple, a Jodo Shinshu Shinshu Otani-ha head temple established in the 19th century. Dior's support for Kganye began in 2025 when she was invited to judge the "Dior Young Photography & Visual Arts Award" in Arles. The exhibition includes works such as "Ke Lefa Laka: Her-Story," "Mohlokomedi wa Tora," "Keep the Light Faithfully," and "Mosebetsi wa Dirithi." The scenography will utilize Japanese paper (washi).
