1. Background and Concept
We will take on the challenge of creating new value by shining a light on sustainable materials that have rarely seen the light of day. This initiative started from the idea that adding the power of art to recycled materials derived from container and packaging plastics manufactured by Mie Chuo Kaihatsu could serve as a catalyst to promote recycling.
While usually distributed as low-grade recycled materials, we explored the possibility of using the power of art to let recycled materials color a space and become artworks themselves. We are making efforts to sublimate product features that would normally be considered negative factors into beauty as the 'personality' of the material. By giving a 'story' and 'expression' to often-overlooked recycled materials, we have brought out new charms of the materials.
This time, to serve as a bridge to the local community through art x culture x recycling, we will hold an unveiling exhibition in collaboration with a cultural facility in Iga. By reassessing the value of recycled materials, please experience the aesthetics of regeneration that resets the sense of beauty.
