Since its launch in 2000, the monthly money magazine 'Diamond ZAi' has disseminated a wealth of financial information, primarily focusing on information useful for individual asset building and management. We have particularly focused on "investment trusts," introducing new analytical methods such as "Investment Trust Ratings," which rank popular investment trusts based on ZAi's unique evaluation, and "True Yield," which clearly shows the pros and cons of monthly distribution types. Leveraging this knowledge and experience, we launched the "Investment Trust Grand Prix" in 2023 to recognize "truly good investment trusts" for individual investors. In 2024, with the start of the new NISA, the name was changed to "Diamond ZAi NISA Investment Trust Grand Prix," targeting only active investment trusts that can be purchased with NISA.
This 4th edition selected 28 funds. 15 funds received consecutive awards from the previous year, and among them, 8 funds received awards for three or more consecutive times. Funds that are resilient to market changes and sudden downturns, and have the ability to achieve stable and excellent results, have been selected. As NISA investments expand and more people start asset management, the importance of choosing "good investment trusts" is increasing. The "Diamond ZAi NISA Investment Trust Grand Prix," which aims to recognize truly good investment trusts from an individual investor's perspective, seeks to assist in investment trust selection, and Diamond ZAi plans to announce this Grand Prix annually.
■ Selection criteria emphasizing "good performance," "low risk of loss," and "stability" for long-term, secure holding
The characteristic of this Grand Prix is that it is limited to "investment trusts with over 5 years of operational track record in popular sectors" and selects them based on three criteria: ① how much they have risen (upward potential), ② how much they do not fall (resistance to decline), and ③ consistently excellent performance (performance stability). Quantitative evaluation is adopted to ensure fair and impartial judgment for everyone, with an emphasis on being able to hold them securely for the long term. Furthermore, since the condition is that "the 5-year growth rate exceeds the index," it serves as a guideline for "what to buy other than index-type funds."
Additionally, in the June 2026 issue of 'Diamond ZAi' (released on April 21, 2026), with future expectations in mind, we also selected the "More Effort Award" from investment trusts that, despite having large net assets and popularity, unfortunately did not perform well.
