Digital Hollywood University (DHU), which offers the Faculty of Digital Communications (a four-year university program) where students learn digital content, planning, and communication, and the Graduate School of Digital Contents (a professional graduate school) that bridges theory and practice to create new businesses, and is a privately funded university authorized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Naohiro Fujii), has partnered with Cloud Doctor Inc. (Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; Representative Director: Takayuki Akamatsu), the operator of the online medical consultation platform "Cloud Doctor," to commence a demonstration experiment utilizing online medical consultation services starting July 1, 2026.
This initiative is part of the "President's Project," launched as a practical application of "Live Scientifically," one of President Fujii's core values. It was prompted by student feedback, such as "I don't have time to go to the hospital" and "I postpone seeking medical attention even when I feel unwell," from students who are also medical doctors.
[Background of Implementation]
The university environment has undergone significant changes in recent years, with diversifying student lifestyles and learning styles. Challenges include difficulty in securing time for hospital visits due to balancing classes, extracurricular activities, and part-time jobs, as well as access to medical care when falling ill during evenings or holidays.
Furthermore, DHU has many international students, and concerns about language barriers when feeling unwell and support during medical consultations are also significant issues.
Through this demonstration experiment, we aim to achieve medical access that is not restricted by time or location by utilizing online medical consultation services, while also strengthening support for international students through multilingual support.
[Cloud Doctor Collaboration Overview]
- Online medical consultations available 24/7, 365 days a year - Consultation with a doctor without prior reservation - Support for international students with 86 language options - Online prescription guidance - Delivery of prescribed medication - Promotion of use within the university and investigation of usage patterns
Start Date: July 1, 2026 (Wednesday) onwards
Target: Digital Hollywood University undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty/staff
[President's Comment]
Digital technology should be utilized not only for education but also to improve people's health and quality of life. This initiative is a new challenge towards creating an environment where students and faculty/staff can learn and work with peace of mind. In particular, our university attracts students from various countries and regions, and establishing an environment where everyone can access medical care with confidence is an important theme.
DHU will continue to advance education and student support utilizing digital technology, while aiming to realize a university model that supports individuals through both "learning" and "health."
Naohiro Fujii President Digital Hollywood University
[About the President's Project]
This practical project was initiated by President Naohiro Fujii in April 2026, based on his observation and dialogue with students. Its essence lies in a realistic scientific endeavor to fill the world by moving boundaries that were previously considered fixed. The president himself acts as the starting point, fluidizing the boundaries of systems, spaces, and habits that had been fixed, and implementing them successively in society. Based on the philosophy that "reality is editable" without being bound by conventional thinking, we will continue to move boundaries and update the university and society through practice.
[Cloud Doctor Inc.]
Cloud Doctor Inc. aims to make "medicine an infrastructure" and provides a 24/7 online medical consultation platform. We are working to improve access to medical care by creating an environment where users can consult with doctors, receive diagnoses, get prescription guidance, and receive prescribed medication through their smartphones or PCs.

Opened in April 2005 in Akihabara, Tokyo, as a privately funded university authorized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (current location: Ochanomizu, Tokyo). It comprises the Faculty of Digital Communications (four-year university program) and the Graduate School of Digital Contents (professional graduate school).
In April 2026, Naohiro Fujii assumed office as the second president. Expanding upon the first president Tomoyuki Sugiyama's vision of "Make Everything Entertainment," he has set forth a new educational vision: "Fill the World."
The Faculty of Digital Communications equips students with the ability to navigate an uncertain and unpredictable future with their own unique approach. The faculty adopts a single-faculty, single-department system, allowing students to broadly learn digital content (3DCG/VFX, VR/AR, games, video, graphics, web design, media art, programming, etc.) and planning/communication (business plans, marketing, public relations, etc.) from instructors active at the forefront of industry. Furthermore, to foster global talent, it features a focused foreign language learning program and promotes study abroad. The university operates a diverse campus in front of Ochanomizu Station, with students from 48 countries and regions.
The Graduate School of Digital Contents aims to produce leaders who can drive social change using digital communication in a hyper-connected society. It fosters talent that bridges theory and practice by equipping students with a balanced understanding and integration of the four elements of emergent academic fields [SEAD (Science/Engineering/Art/Design)]. Through the implementation of graduate students' ideas, including new business planning and prototyping, and startup support, the university ranked 17th nationwide and 7th among private universities in the "FY2025 University Startup Survey" (Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry), producing numerous entrepreneurs.
