desiign Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Sayuri Naito) supports "April Dream," a project where companies announce their dreams on April 1st. This press release is a declaration of our dream: "Pioneering the future for women designers. Transforming society and organizations through UI/UX created by women designers."

What's Happening in Japan: Excellent Design is Being 'Undervalued' Currently, Japan has numerous women designers with delicate sensibilities and high skills.

However, many of them are confined to production tasks such as "tidying up screens," with limited opportunities to be involved in business direction or decision-making. This is not an issue of individual ability. The cause lies in Japan's deeply rooted old OS (structure) that treats design as a "deliverable."

As a result,

・Excellent designers are confined to "tasks"

・Their scope of involvement is narrow ・It is difficult for their compensation and evaluation to increase

These structural issues have emerged.

We believe that the role of women designers as "subcontractors" should end.

desiign's Approach: Design is "Co-creation," Not "Ordering"

We define UI/UX not as "beautiful screens," but as "a process of deriving the correct business solution together with the client."

In projects, designers do not work alone; instead, they collaborate with clients, operating Figma together to verbalize and visualize UX structures and requirements.

This is not merely production; it is a process of making decisions while synchronizing unspoken intentions and feelings.

Achievements: Organizational Change Born from Co-creation

Through this co-creative approach, we have seen cases where business managers with no prior design experience learn to draw UIs in Figma and explain UX logic themselves through the project.

This has led to:

・Significant reduction in communication loss within teams ・Improved accuracy in requirements definition ・Internalization of design knowledge as company assets

We are creating "value that remains within the organization," which traditional production companies cannot provide.

From Representative, Sayuri Naito

I believe that the "delicate sensibilities" possessed by Japanese women are the strongest weapon in the business field. We at desiign are a stage (platform) for them to realize their own value and live free and rich lives. And with the power of design, we will rewrite the very structure of this society.

Our Vision for the Future

When UI/UX functions as the core of a business, three changes emerge:

・Improved status for women designers: Gaining compensation and roles commensurate with their abilities as strategic partners ・Client organizations becoming self-sufficient: Non-designers acquiring UX thinking and becoming capable of decision-making ・Realization of sustainable careers: A society where individuals can build their careers freely based on their abilities and choices

Towards an era where the world seeks Japanese women designers.

We at desiign will realize a society where everyone is involved in decision-making as a "value creator" through the power of UI/UX.

*"April Dream" is a project by PR TIMES where companies announce their dreams they wish to achieve on April 1st. We are seriously committed to realizing this dream.
