Hello. I am Tsukiko Ozawa, a master trainer of Developmental Science Communication and a speech-language pathologist, who helps children become better at talking by smoothing parent-child communication without speech practice.

Most stuttering begins in early childhood as developmental stuttering, with an onset rate of about 8% according to the National Rehabilitation Center for Persons with Disabilities. While stuttering is often viewed as a 'speech' problem, research published in the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare scientific database shows that about 40-50% of children with stuttering also have ASD, ADHD, or DCD, indicating the need for support that considers developmental and daily life challenges.

Many parents feel anxious when their child's stuttering worsens, thinking 'Will I be okay?', 'Should I have done something?', 'Is there anything I can do?'.

Especially during transitions like grade advancement or school changes, children's brains are overloaded with new information. When the brain is full, stuttering increases, along with behaviors like slow morning routines, tantrums, rigidity, sibling fights, and inability to stop gaming or videos. This is a critical time to reassess the child's brain state.

I often liken a child's brain to a cup. Children's brain cups are still developing, so they may be small, have holes at the bottom, or come in various shapes. Daily stimuli and stress fill the cup, and when it overflows, stuttering and problem behaviors emerge. So stuttering waves are not just signs of worsening speech; they show whether the child's brain cup is ready to absorb daily information and what kind of interaction can create space to calm stuttering and problem behaviors.

This free e-book is for parents raising children with stuttering and developmental differences. It clearly summarizes how changing parent-child communication can activate the child's brain, fostering speech, behavior, and the ability to take on challenges.

The goal is not just to eliminate stuttering, but to enable children to say what they want, express their feelings, recover from setbacks, and develop the ability to choose and move forward. The foundation is daily parent-child communication. The anxiety 'Will I be okay?' does not come from a mother's weakness; it is an important sign that she does not want to just wait and see for her child's future. I hope this book helps you move from anxious days to starting a method that activates your child's brain.
