■ The most common impression of a person with beautiful teeth alignment is 'cleanliness' at 41.8%. Also an indicator of social 'trust' and 'self-management'

First, we asked what kind of impression people have of 'a person with beautiful teeth alignment'. The survey results showed that 'looks clean' (41.8%) was overwhelmingly the most common, followed by 'seems well-raised' (12.6%) and 'has high aesthetic awareness' (11.8%). When analyzing the impressions by gender, a slightly higher percentage of men answered 'looks trustworthy' and 'is capable of self-management' compared to women, indicating a tendency to view teeth alignment as an axis of social evaluation in business scenes and the like. From these results, it has become clear that the beauty of teeth alignment not only forms the basis of the first impression of 'cleanliness' but also serves as an important material for judgment that evokes an individual's upbringing and lifestyle attitude.

■ About 45% of people are concerned about the other person's 'teeth alignment' upon first meeting. Women tend to check more closely

Next, we asked if they have ever been concerned about the other person's teeth alignment when meeting for the first time. Combining 'Often' (12.2%) and 'Sometimes' (33.2%), it became clear that a total of 45.4% are concerned about the other person's mouth area at the first meeting. Looking at it by gender, the sum of 'Often' and 'Sometimes' was 41.9% for men and 48.3% for women, indicating that women consciously look at the other person's teeth alignment more. From this result, it can be said that in the scene of a first meeting, which is the entrance to interpersonal communication, teeth alignment is one of the visual informations that cannot be ignored.
