Denki Kogyo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Tadashi Kondo; hereinafter "the Company") has developed a new "Circulation-Type Boilerless Compact Superheated Steam Generator" as part of its efforts to expand the lineup of its "D-Rapid®" series of superheated steam generators, which utilize high-frequency induction heating technology.
Superheated steam is a colorless, transparent steam obtained by further heating saturated steam, which evaporates at 100℃, to a higher temperature. The Company has been promoting the commercialization of superheated steam in various fields by applying its long-cultivated high-frequency induction heating technology. This technology can be utilized for heating, drying, and sterilization in the food and industrial sectors, and the Company has been developing and proposing equipment for these applications.
However, conventional superheated steam facilities often presented challenges in terms of equipment burden for trial introductions or small-scale applications, requiring the installation of boilers, ancillary equipment, and relatively large power capacities. The newly developed device addresses these issues, aiming for smaller equipment, easier installation, and reduced manufacturing costs.
This device is a compact unit that rapidly converts water into superheated steam without using a boiler. It adopts a circulation system that recovers and liquefies used steam, returning it to a water tank. This design reduces water and energy loss and eliminates the need for an exhaust steam duct.
Our superheated steam generators have previously included medium to large-scale facilities and processing machines tailored to specific applications, such as cyclone, conveyor, and falling-film types. With the development of this new model, we will enhance our proposal capabilities in the compact segment, in addition to our existing lineup. We will continue to provide more flexible solutions that cater to small-scale processing needs, such as testing, prototyping, and sample processing.
Moving forward, the Company will continue to contribute to improving productivity, enhancing quality, and saving energy in food processing and various industrial sectors by expanding its superheated steam solutions utilizing high-frequency induction heating technology.
