The Distribution Economics Institute of Japan has been working on the "Commissioned Project for Policies Implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries within the Bridging Program for R&D and Society 5.0 (Advancement of Agricultural, Marine Products, and Food Distribution through Product Code Standardization and Source Marking Technology)" (commonly known as BRIDGE), a research and development initiative of the Cabinet Office and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. With truck transport accounting for 98% of the distribution of agricultural and marine products and food, this project develops solutions and know-how aimed at streamlining and rationalizing agricultural distribution, including responses to the 2024 Logistics Problem. In this project, we developed and implemented data linkage between the Smart Food Chain Platform (ukabis) and the retail logistics/commercial distribution infrastructure, which serves as a data linkage base for logistics. Additionally, we developed automatic conversion apps that translate operators' unique management codes into standardized codes like GS1 and Veggie-Fruit, along with automated inspection technologies, inventory management systems, and an EDI system connecting production areas and markets. We are pleased to announce that an online meeting will be held to report these achievements (free to attend). ■ Date and Time ■ Monday, April 20, 2026, 15:00 - 17:00 (Scheduled) ■ Participation URL (ZOOM Webinar) ■ https://dei.zoom.us/j/85966552714?pwd=SMwKxHI6vHQB1M3x5wUjiMa4bWaz8i.1 ■ Report Contents ■ 〇 Greetings and Overall Explanation ① Electronic Slip Solution between Production Areas and Wholesale Markets using ukabis → Distribution Economics Institute of Japan, Smart Food Chain Association, Tsuzuki Denki Co., Ltd., Seraku Co., Ltd. ② Agricultural Product Inventory Management Solution utilizing Standard Codes linked with ukabis → Keyware Solutions Inc. ③ Optimization of Loading Methods for Logistics Materials (e.g., Containers) for Agricultural and Marine Products & Quality Risk Map based on Loading Position → Kyushu University, Fukuoka Prefecture, Kumamoto Prefecture, Nishi-Nippon Railroad Co., Ltd., NEC Solution Innovators, Ltd. 〇 Looking Towards the Future Distribution Economics Institute of Japan 10th Floor, Yamawaki Building, 4-8-21 Kudanminami, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo Persons in charge: Chihiro Mori, Shunsuke Orikasa TEL: 03-5213-4534 FAX: 03-5276-5457 Please click here for MAIL inquiries ↓↓
