The certified NPO, Development Education Association (DEAR), has released the 25th issue of "Global Express" (published March 25, 2026), a media literacy educational material for handling current events in the classroom. It is available for free download.

This issue focuses on the theme of the "Attack on Iran," which began on February 28, 2026. It introduces three activities for discussing the complex background of conflicts and wars, organizing what is known and not known, and examining opinions. It is an educational material for thinking about questions such as "How do you feel? What are you interested in?", "Why did Israel and the United States attack?", "What is my opinion?", and "What is necessary to prevent war?" based on news and information.

◆Material Overview

・ Activity 1: Sharing "Feelings" and "Interests"

Students confirm their own "feelings" and "interests" after seeing or hearing news and information, and discuss them with others.

・ Activity 2: My Opinion

"Is the attack unavoidable?", "Is there no justification?", "Is military armament necessary?", "What is the responsibility of citizens regarding war?". After reading several news reports, students confirm their own opinions while considering various perspectives on the "discourse" surrounding war, and discuss them with others.

・ Activity 3: What is Necessary to Avoid War

Students brainstorm ideas necessary to avoid war and consider what they themselves can do.
