Lawyers Explain "Basic Knowledge of Law and Money" Free Seminar to Avoid Regret in Divorce

(URL: https://ddrwakai.co.jp/ Minato-ku, Tokyo: Representative Director and President / Reimon Matoba), which aims to make judicial services easily accessible to everyone through smartphone mediation, will hold a free online seminar titled "What You Should Know First About Law and Money When Considering Divorce" (subtitle: Basic Knowledge Seminar for Making Choices Without Regret in Divorce) in collaboration with Brave Small Amount Short-Term Insurance Co., Ltd. (URL: https://brave-ss.co.jp/ Chuo-ku, Tokyo: Representative Director and President / Lawyer Takeshi Tada) and the single-parent support organization "Shinmama Ouen no Kai" (hereinafter Shinmama Ouen / URL: https://clarus.life/member).

■ Background: The social issue of "information disparity" surrounding divorce

Approximately 180,000 couples divorce in Japan each year. However, the following problems still exist:

• Cases where child support arrangements are not made

• Non-payment of child support → Approximately 70% of child support is not received in Japan

• Agreements made without sufficient legal knowledge

• Prolongation of emotional conflict → Causes of child abduction, etc.

Divorce is often discussed as an "emotional" issue, but in reality, it is a critical life decision involving "law," "money," and "future planning." However, in reality,

• Psychological and economic hurdles to consult a lawyer

• Anxiety about where to start researching

• Decisions based on incorrect information

Due to these factors, decisions are often made without access to necessary information. As a result, there is a possibility of long-term impact not only on the parties involved but also on children and society as a whole.
