Sorakaze Announces New Store Opening in Ishigaki Island & Launch of New Tour

Sorakaze Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Yaeyama District, Okinawa Prefecture, President: Yohei Hirakawa), a group company of D&D Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, President: Yoshinori Takemura), which develops activity tours allowing visitors to experience the rich nature of Iriomote Island, a World Natural Heritage site, opened a new store in Ishigaki Island on June 29, 2026 (Mon).

Sorakaze, with 15 years of experience and over 30,000 participants on Iriomote Island, will begin offering a half-day activity tour in Ishigaki Island, "Ishigaki Island Mangrove Canoe & Trekking Water Play Fully Satisfying Tour," which allows participants to fully experience the charm of the island's rivers.

Background and Aim: A New Option in Ishigaki Island "River Field Tour"

Currently, tourism in Ishigaki Island primarily focuses on island hopping and marine leisure. The newly opened "Sorakaze Ishigaki Store" will leverage the high-quality tour operation know-how cultivated on Iriomote Island to propose new activities that allow visitors to experience the "charm of rivers" in Ishigaki Island, which are little known.

This tour was developed to meet the needs of customers who are "a little hesitant about marine leisure such as boat travel and snorkeling" and active travelers who "want to enjoy sightseeing in Taketomi Island while also having a unique natural experience in Ishigaki Island."

Furthermore, the tour is designed to be completed in half a day, allowing participants to have a leisurely lunch after the tour and then travel to Taketomi Island in the afternoon, realizing a seamless sightseeing route that makes full use of the day.

Two Major Highlights of the Tour (May-October Schedule)

1. "Fuchito River Mangrove Canoe" Through a Scenic Spot Designated as a Natural Monument

Navigate through mangrove forests designated as a National Natural Monument on the Fuchito River, one of Ishigaki Island's premier canoeing spots, stretching approximately 2.2 km. You can leisurely experience a fantastical and extraordinary moment, as if enveloped by nature, for about 1 hour.

2. "Secret Spot - Ntanara River Water Healing" for a Special Experience

The secret spot "Ntanara River" is rarely visited, even by locals. Immerse yourself in the clear stream amidst a jungle with untouched nature and enjoy water play. This is a special refreshing experience that allows you to forget your daily life and relax your mind and body, while healing your body heated from canoeing, surrounded by lush greenery and clear air. It is a nature activity unique to Sorakaze that allows for deep relaxation of both mind and body.
