Free Distribution of 300 Bags of "Drinking Dashi" at Local Festival: Proposing a New Food Culture and Supporting Local Event Revitalization

Dashi Corporation Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo / Representative: Tsutomu Mizuno) distributed 300 bags of its drinking dashi, "Dashidori," free of charge to visitors at the "5th Wakaizumi Park Spring Festival & Honjo Craft Art Fair" held on March 30, 2026.

Through this initiative, we proposed a new way to enjoy "dashi," a traditional Japanese food culture, while invigorating a local event through our drinking dashi, "Dashidori."

Background of Implementation

In recent years, due to rising health consciousness, interest in naturally derived foods has been expanding. On the other hand, "dashi" is strongly associated with cooking, and the culture of drinking it on a daily basis is not yet common.

By providing dashi in a new style of "drinking," we implemented this initiative with the following goals: - Proposing a new dietary habit that can be easily enjoyed - Re-recognizing Japanese food culture

Many visitors experienced it on the day, and we received comments such as: "It has a gentle taste and is easy to drink." "Drinking dashi outside of cooking is refreshing." "I didn't know there was a dashi company in Honjo City." "I want you to continue spreading Japanese culture."
