The "Darabochi Music Festival," which aims to create new "attraction" in the Noto Peninsula through the power of music, will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Heart & Beer Nihonkai Club in Noto Town, Suzu District, Ishikawa Prefecture.

This event was conceived as an initiative to go beyond support and recovery in Noto since the earthquake, aiming to create new festivals and culture rooted in the Noto Peninsula's culture and climate, thereby creating a "destination" that serves as a reason to visit.

The "Darabochi Music Festival" is based on the vision of:

A "festival" in Noto,
A "culture" in Noto,
A "destination" in Noto.

With this vision, we aim to create new attraction in Noto through the power of music and lay the foundation for creative reconstruction.

In its inaugural year, the festival will bring together diverse artists, with a focus on those connected to Noto. Additionally, traditional Noto performing arts such as the 400-year-old Yasaka Taiko, as well as food and drink areas and markets where visitors can enjoy local fermented and culinary culture, will be featured, offering a diverse experience beyond just music.

■ A "handmade music festival" by the people living in Noto

The event name "Darabochi" is a Noto dialect word meaning "someone who is clumsy and slow, but lives with all their heart."

The Darabochi Music Festival was launched by a wide range of members living in Noto with the desire to "create a festival with our own hands." By having people rooted in the region take the lead in planning and operation, we aim to create a space where everyone involved becomes a stakeholder.
