Spa "Slow SPA" Annex "Futaba no Hondana" Library. Daiwa LifeNext Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Eiji Saito), a member of the Daiwa House Group, will open the retreat-style hotel "FUTATABI FUTABA FUKUSHIMA" in Futaba Town, Fukushima Prefecture on Monday, June 1, 2026. Ahead of this, we are revealing for the first time the completed interior spaces, which have previously only been shown in architectural renderings. [Hotel Official Website] https://www.futatabi-futaba-fukushima.com/ About "FUTATABI FUTABA FUKUSHIMA": This is a retreat-style hotel scheduled to open in the Nakano area industrial reconstruction hub of Futaba, Fukushima, featuring the largest banquet and conference rooms in the region. Adjacent to the Great East Japan Earthquake and Nuclear Disaster Memorial Museum and the Fukushima Prefecture Reconstruction Memorial Park (opened May 2), it will play a role as a hub for regional revitalization and exchange. A desire to reclaim Futaba's nature and industry once again (Rebirth). A desire to re-encounter the charm of this town and its people (Reunion). And a wish for people to want to come to this place again (Revisit). Our hotel is born from these "futatabi" (again) sentiments. While harmonizing with the region, we aim to be a place where visitors can reflect on their mind and body and spend time quietly rebalancing themselves. "Supporting each other, moving forward again" Entrance Art: The art piece "Between Us" installed at the entrance is themed on the relationship "between" people, land, and memory, composed of multiple wooden pillars that support each other as they rise. The pillars, of different shapes and thicknesses, symbolize the diverse people connected to Futaba Town, including adults, children, people returning to the town, and first-time visitors. The surface of the pillars uses washi paper, with a base incorporating ceramic shards of Obori Soma ware, which originated in Namie Town, Fukushima, over 300 years ago, and Kutani ware from Ishikawa Prefecture. By reconfiguring shards born from the earthquake and the production process, it expresses "rebirth" and "the creation of new value." This entrance art quietly signifies at the entrance of the space the philosophy of "FUTATABI FUTABA FUKUSHIMA" as a place where people, land, and time overlap and begin to move again, by giving new meaning to broken things and materials that were never meant to be. Souvenir Shop with Fukushima Specialties and Original Hotel Products: The souvenir shop inside the hotel offers a carefully selected range of foods and crafts related to Fukushima, centering on the Hamadori region including Futaba Town. It's a space where you can casually drop by with memories of your trip. We offer products with designs unique to FUTATABI FUTABA FUKUSHIMA, including the "FUTATABI Original Futaba Daruma," inspired by the history of the Daruma market that has continued in Futaba Town for about 300 years since the Edo period, as well as tumblers and small plates made with Obori Soma ware from Namie Town, and placemats/coasters made with Aizu cotton from the Aizu region of Fukushima. The lineup also includes local flavors like baked goods using Fukushima-grown fruits and sake from breweries in the Hamadori region.
