The pillars, of different shapes and thicknesses, symbolize the diverse people connected to Futaba Town, including adults, children, people returning to the town, and first-time visitors. The surface of the pillars uses washi paper, with a base incorporating ceramic shards of Obori Soma ware, which originated in Namie Town, Fukushima, over 300 years ago, and Kutani ware from Ishikawa Prefecture. By reconfiguring shards born from the earthquake and the production process, it expresses "rebirth" and "the creation of new value."
