Daiichi Sankyo Healthcare Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Takahiro Uchida; hereinafter "the Company") will launch a new cosmetic product, "Minon Scalp Moisturizing Lotion," on September 17, 2026 (Thu). This product is developed under Minon, a skincare brand dedicated to sensitive skin, and aims to provide moisturizing care specifically for sensitive scalps.
The scalp tends to have high sebum but low moisture content, making it prone to barrier dysfunction due to over-washing or external irritants, which can lead to recurring issues such as dryness and itching. While Minon has previously supported consumers' hair care routines through the concept of "moisturizing cleansing," the launch of "Minon Scalp Moisturizing Lotion" introduces a new habit of directly moisturizing the scalp—"scalp moisturizing care."
"Minon Scalp Moisturizing Lotion" is a moisturizer formulated with a balanced blend of moisturizing ingredients (*1) and emollient ingredients (*2), delivering hydration without a sticky or greasy feel. Packaged in a nozzle-type container, it is designed for direct application to the scalp, allowing targeted use on areas prone to dryness.
Launched as a skincare brand focused on the skin's barrier function, Minon has earned long-standing consumer trust. Moving forward, the Company will continue to address the concerns of sensitive skin and contribute to improving quality of life (QOL).

2. Background of Launch
According to a company survey (*3), 29.3% of respondents reported experiencing scalp concerns (*4) such as itching, dryness, and dandruff, indicating that the scalp is one of the more vulnerable areas of the skin. The scalp has high sebum but low moisture content and is easily affected by external stimuli, making it particularly susceptible to dryness.
In light of these findings, while Minon has previously supported hair care through "moisturizing cleansing," the Company recognized the importance of post-wash scalp care for addressing dryness. Focusing on the significance of leave-on moisturization—directly hydrating the scalp after washing—the Company developed "Minon Scalp Moisturizing Lotion" to provide appropriate moisture for dryness-prone scalps.
3. About the Minon Brand
Minon was launched in 1973 with the mission of eliminating skin issues caused by cosmetic allergies. The brand name originates from its original development goal of "Three Nons": Non-allergic (minimizing allergenic substances), Non-toxic (low irritation/low toxicity), and Non-alkaline (weakly acidic, not alkaline).
Remaining true to this philosophy, Minon continues to be a brand suitable for use by everyone, from infants to the elderly.
