We support the "April Dream" initiative, which aims to make April 1st a day for sharing dreams. This press release represents the dream of the "Daiichi Holdings Group."
Daiichi Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Sayama City, Saitama Prefecture; Main Office: Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture; President and Representative Director: Naoto Nishii; hereinafter "the Company") aims to be a 100-year company that fosters a rich life by staying close to the daily lives of the region through diverse businesses, including amusement facilities, business hotels, culture schools, and childcare and nursing care facilities. We develop businesses that are needed in response to the changes of the times, together with the local community.
We are using this "April Dream" as an opportunity to share our dream widely and to communicate and propose initiatives that support the lives of local residents.
(Daiichi Holdings Co., Ltd. is a holding company that owns its core company, Daiichi Corporation.)
1. The origin of sharing our dream
"We want to create jobs in the region"—a small wish from 62 years ago is our starting point.
Our journey began with this simple desire held by our founder. The business started in Sayama City, Saitama Prefecture, and has since expanded to Tokyo, Chiba, and Kanagawa, with a current focus on Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture. Even as times change and the shape of society shifts, this DNA of "protecting employment and nurturing the region" remains unchanged.
Currently, with Daiichi Corporation as our core, we have pursued diversification that may seem disparate at first glance, ranging from pachinko and prize games to childcare, nursing care, IT, and overseas expansion. However, there is always one thing at the root: the determination to "not fear change and to create, with our own hands, the places needed for local life."
2. Why "10 Presidents"?
10 years of walking with 1,317 colleagues. The next era is one where the "individual" shines and creates business.
In the last 10 years, our company has changed significantly. The number of employees has increased approximately threefold, from 419 to 1,317.
Furthermore, the five businesses we had 10 years ago have expanded into new fields such as childcare, nursing care, and IT, growing to eight businesses today. This expansion is not limited to outside Saitama Prefecture but continues to spread overseas.
What we have realized over these 10 years is that what supports corporate growth is not "systems," but always the "passion of each individual who thinks and acts on their own."
Our dream is not merely the expansion of corporate scale.
It is to "create 10 businesses and 10 presidents" by 2035.
This leads to each employee not just being on the "hired side," but raising their own flag. We believe that a leader (president) who solves regional issues is someone who is constantly taking on challenges.
We have cultivated a culture that celebrates employees who take on challenges.
For example:
- Talent who use experience and data as weapons to challenge unprecedented plans
- Talent who proactively work on acquiring qualifications as an investment in the future
These individual actions are surely strengthening the foundation of our organization.
Individual growth leads to business growth, which in turn creates new opportunities and value. This cycle is the essence of human capital management.
As a result, we believe this has led to the creation of new businesses and an increase in employees, thereby generating employment in the region.
3. A future where the dream has come true
Toward a 100-year company where we can believe together that "we can change the future with our own hands."
- By 2035, new colleagues and current colleagues will become one, and 10 businesses and 10 presidents will have been born.
- Everything starts with proactive action.
- As a company that continues to support local life, we will continue to take on challenges.
When our dream comes true, there will be 10 businesses where different personalities shine, and 10 leaders supporting the region in their respective fields. Instead of waiting for a role, we create opportunities and take on challenges ourselves. We will build a culture where such "proactive" talent is fairly evaluated and rewarded.
For both new colleagues and current colleagues: To be a presence that people say "I'm glad this company is in this town" even 100 years from now. Today, we take a new step forward with this dream as our banner.
