Demonstration experiment for welfare and nursing care joint transportation service "Goissho" begins in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture

Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, Daihatsu) has constructed a new model for its welfare and nursing care joint transportation service "Goissho" and has commenced a demonstration experiment in Toyonaka City, Osaka Prefecture.

In the previous model of "Goissho," non-profit organizations and other operating entities were responsible for transportation and vehicle management at multiple day care facilities, working to improve operational efficiency at each facility through joint operation. The newly constructed model is centered on "mutual assistance" within the community, where day care facilities entrust and accept transportation tasks from each other. The operating entity does not manage the vehicles but acts as an intermediary between facilities and manages transportation operations using a transportation management system. We believe this will enable the sustainable provision of joint transportation services, even in areas like Toyonaka City*1, where numerous nursing care facilities are concentrated, by reducing the burden on the operating entity.

The demonstration experiment will be operated by the Toyonaka City Care Insurance Business Operators Liaison Council, and is scheduled to run from July 1, 2026 (Wed) to August 31, 2026 (Mon), with 8 facilities in the city participating. A total of 20 vehicles owned by the participating facilities will assist each other with transportation, with an estimated total of approximately 185 people to be transported. In response to transportation requests from entrusting facilities, the operating entity will check the availability of seats on vehicles from accepting facilities, devise the optimal combination, and then present efficient transportation routes to the accepting facilities. It is anticipated that some participating facilities will serve in both the role of entrusting and accepting transportation services. Through the demonstration experiment, we will confirm the effects of improving transportation efficiency and inter-facility collaboration, organize operational challenges, and evaluate the business viability as a sustainable joint transportation model. This initiative, involving shared rides among nursing care facilities for joint transportation, is the first of its kind in the nation*2.

Daihatsu will continue to address regional issues in the welfare and nursing care sector and work towards realizing a sustainable mobility society through the provision of services that contribute to the local community, including "Goissho."
