Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, Daihatsu) has, since Wednesday, April 1, 2026, commenced joint transportation services with after-school day services*, a different industry, in addition to the joint transportation for day services for the elderly, as part of the welfare and care joint transportation service "Goissho Mitoyo" operating in Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture.

"Goissho" is a mobility service provided by Daihatsu to solve social issues. It is a system that outsources transportation operations for multiple day care facilities and conducts joint operations to improve operational efficiency, address the shortage of care personnel, and secure transportation for those with mobility challenges. "Goissho Mitoyo" officially began operations in June 2022, the first of its kind nationwide, and has transported over 45,000 people to date. Currently, MiLAIS (MIRAIS), a general incorporated association and regional transportation management operator, serves as the operating entity, consolidating transportation operations, which are then outsourced to local taxi companies for execution.

Starting today, one after-school day service facility has been newly added to the scope of joint transportation, and transportation between the facility and children's homes will commence. This joint transportation initiative between businesses in different industries is a pioneering effort, aiming to solve challenges such as a shortage of drivers and other personnel by further improving the efficiency of transportation services within the region. As there is increasing demand for therapeutic services in after-school day services, coupled with difficulties in securing staff, joint transportation will be utilized to strengthen the operational system with existing personnel. Approximately 40 individuals are expected to be transported monthly.

Daihatsu will continue to contribute to solving regional issues in the welfare and care sector and realize a sustainable mobility society by providing services that benefit the local community, including "Goissho."

*After-school day service: A day support service based on the Child Welfare Act, used by children who require developmental support during after-school hours.
