Cybozu Social Design Lab (Sodelab) launched free kintone applications for employment support facilities for people with disabilities, including Type A and Type B facilities. This initiative follows up on a "Survey on IT Human Resource Shortage and Employment of People with Disabilities" published in January 2026. The goal is to support digital transformation (DX) in these facilities by centralizing information and streamlining operations. The applications manage user rosters, support status, individual support plans, wage and working hour records, and counselor interactions. This reduces the administrative workload for staff, allowing more time for direct user support and reducing overtime. It also helps users acquire valuable IT skills. Notably, some of these applications were developed by a user of a Type B employment support facility. Cybozu offers a "hands-on support pack" for the first 10 facilities, providing assistance from introduction to operation. According to Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare data, only about half of private companies meet the legal employment rate for people with disabilities, and the employment rate for people with disabilities has remained stagnant at 40-60% for over a decade. However, a survey conducted by Cybozu last year revealed that while 74.0% of companies reported an IT/digital human resource shortage, 71.4% expressed willingness to consider hiring individuals with disabilities who possess IT skills, indicating a positive shift. Multifunctional facility Re.co. in Nagano Prefecture, which focuses on employment support for people with disabilities, collaborated on this project.
