John Lennon’s only full concert performed after the breakup of the Beatles, the "One to One Concert," returns to the screen with the finest visuals and sound in the film 'Power to the People: John & Yoko Live in NYC'.
Starting tomorrow (4/29), the worldwide limited-time screening of this work will begin.
Leading up to the release, a message has arrived for Japanese fans from Sean Ono Lennon, who served as the producer of this film!
"I believe John and Yoko’s message for peace remains just as important today—if not more so than ever before. The 'ONE TO ONE' concert at Madison Square Garden, which was the last concert for the two of them, records the period when their political influence and activities were at their peak."
"It is a great honor to have been involved in this wonderful music and to finally have the opportunity to deliver 'Power to the People' to the world. I am sure that the people of Japan, who understand the importance of peace, will deeply empathize with this wonderful film."

Recommendation Comments (Part 3)
"I bought a double record album called 'Sometime in New York City' when I was in high school. Since then, 'Love & Peace' has meant John & Yoko to me. It was vastly different from the vague, pretty-sounding 'love' I used to imagine. The 'and' in the manga 'Iden & Tity' I later drew was also heavily influenced by John & Yoko.
Watching this live footage now as an 'Out-ro' (Oldie), their distorted stage transcends time and makes me think, 'That’s exactly what’s good about it!'"
Jun Miura (Illustrator, etc.)
"For a long time, the 'ONE TO ONE' concert was something we could only enjoy on dark, grainy videos, much like Wings' 'ROCK SHOW,' so it lacked what people today call 'immersion.' Since 'ROCK SHOW' was restored and lengthened a few years ago, I had been waiting with bated breath for 'ONE TO ONE.' Now, with a new title, it’s finally here! I was fully immersed.
Once again, John’s eyes—or rather, his gaze—seen through those blue sunglasses in 'Mother' and 'Imagine' give me chills. He really is an artist. I still admire how he drapes his guitar over his back to play the keys, or how he non-chalantly brushes off mistakes with a joke. Also, I knew there were two drummers and two guitarists, but I realized this time there were two bassists as well! And while there was a choir, they only appeared for a song or two, making me realize this was basically a live show without vocal harmonies. That lets you fully savor John’s voice, but it’s interesting to see the stark difference from Paul, who was always obsessed with harmonies with band members.
And John’s visuals on this day are the coolest."

"John performing 'Come Together' and 'Mother' live! When I first saw the One to One concert ages ago, I was blown away by its rarity. At the same time, hearing his self-deprecating MC saying 'Welcome to the rehearsal,' I wondered if the performance wasn't quite perfect.
However, this film overturned that perception. Certainly, there is roughness in the playing. But that was rock! For an ex-Beatle to do this so soon after the breakup—more than the musicality, the stance itself is rock. John is truly amazing. Maybe Yoko is even more amazing. I realized that the One to One concert is only complete when it includes Yoko's parts, which we haven't been able to see enough of until now. I was overwhelmed!"
Hideyasu Moto (Illustrator/Manga Artist)
"John’s struggle to escape the Beatles illusion and the star illusion to be a real expressive artist is stingingly raw, painfully sad, and at the same time, overwhelmingly beautiful and cool.
And the moment when Stevie Wonder, who rushed to support John and Yoko as they fought desperately in the gap between message and entertainment, instantly integrates message and entertainment as a matter of course with his singing voice, is a masterpiece."
