CyberStep Holdings, Inc. announced its participation in an initiative to preserve the history of 'Goeku Gusuku,' a former castle site in Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture, for future generations. This initiative leverages 'Teravit,' a sandbox game developed and operated by its consolidated subsidiary, CyberStep, Inc.

This project, centered around the Goeku Shiratsubaki-kai, aims to transmit the history of Goeku Gusuku, much of which was lost after the war, to local children. On Thursday, May 28, 2026, an explanatory meeting was held at the Goeku Community Center for local residents, stakeholders, and children.

As part of the 'Smile Step Project' initiated to mark the company's 25th anniversary, the group has been promoting efforts toward developing the next generation of IT talent and solving regional social issues through game production experiences.

CyberStep and its group have previously held game production experience events for children and donated PCs to improve IT learning environments in cities such as Nakama (Fukuoka Prefecture), Matsudo (Chiba Prefecture), and within Okinawa Prefecture.

This initiative involving Goeku Gusuku aims to further develop these activities. By moving beyond just experiencing game production to learning about the history and culture remaining in the area, children are encouraged to express these themes within a digital space, thereby connecting local memories to the next generation.

Goeku Gusuku is an important historical resource for the region, said to have been the residence of King Sho Taikyu and Sho Sen-i during their time as castle lords. While stone walls and arched gates remained before the war, much of this has been lost, making it difficult to see the original structure today. The Goeku Shiratsubaki-kai has been continuing activities to convey this history through mediums such as the production of the history manga book 'Goeku Gusuku: Great Figures of Goeku.'

In this project, a production environment based on the terrain of Goeku Gusuku will be prepared in 'Teravit,' allowing children to construct the castle with free thinking. Future plans include hosting regular production workshops at the 'Goeku Cafe' held at the Goeku Community Center, creating opportunities for local children to participate continuously. Additionally, support from students in the IT Systems Department of Mirai Technical High School is planned, aiming to expand this into a space where children and the younger generation can learn together.

'Teravit' is a sandbox game that allows users to create worlds and games with a block-building experience, without needing specialized programming skills. While playing, children encounter spatial awareness, creativity, expressive capabilities, and logical thinking. In this effort, by connecting such game production experiences with local history learning and cultural preservation, the company will offer a new form of learning with enjoyment as the entry point. Furthermore, at the explanatory meeting, the group donated production and experience devices to help build an environment where children can continuously participate in production.

Our group believes that the role of an entertainment company is not limited to simply providing games. We believe that by utilizing the power of games to 'create,' 'play,' and 'connect' toward resolving educational and regional social issues, we can broaden the future options for children.

Going forward, we will continue to contribute to the development of next-generation IT talent and the preservation of regional culture through game production experiences, while deepening our cooperation with local governments, regional organizations, and educational institutions.
