The Skateboarding Japan Open brings together Japan's top athletes. The venue is the newly established Ark Town Utsunomiya. Alongside the Japan Open title, a major focus of this competition is the race for designated national team spots.
To participate in events organized by the international sports federation 'World Skate,' athletes must be ranked in the World Skate Top 30 and be among the top 6 in their respective countries. However, Yuto Horigome, a two-time Olympic champion, is 7th among Japanese men (20th globally), and Rin Akama, a Paris silver medalist, is 10th but 7th among Japanese women. Therefore, their participation in the World Skate Tour from June onwards is not yet confirmed.
In this competition that leads to the world stage, will a medalist emerge victorious, or will a new star rise?
*Please note that depending on preliminary results, some athletes may not participate in the finals. We appreciate your understanding.
