Creek & River Co., Ltd. (C&R Co.) will hold a free online seminar "Adult English Restart Course: Gently Relearning from Eiken Grade 3 Level" on Friday, May 29th. This seminar is aimed at adults who have been away from English since their student days, business professionals who feel uncomfortable with English, and those who need English for work or childcare.

In recent years, globalization has been progressing even further in the creative industry, and opportunities to work with overseas creators in production sites and projects are increasing. However, many people may have taken the Eiken test in their student days but now feel "I don't understand English at all" or "I can't speak it." Therefore, C&R Co. is starting a seminar series for such people, titled "Restart English."

In this seminar, participants will experience "English for solving problems" by actually using teaching materials similar to Eiken questions. The first session will focus on "reading aloud." The basics of English are rhythm and sound. Participants will practice reading aloud with the instructor using easy English sentences similar to Eiken's reading aloud questions. The goal is to get used to the sounds of English and enjoy "speaking English aloud." If you are interested, please join us.

<Future Plans> ■Vol.2 (Scheduled for June) Speaking (Illustration Description) Experience questions similar to Eiken's "describe a picture." You will naturally acquire tips for speaking simply in English.

Vol.3 (Scheduled for July) Reading (Content Matching Questions) Experience the feeling of "reading to solve problems" rather than "reading to understand." Your reading style will change dramatically.

Vol.4 (Scheduled for August) Listening (Problem Solving Experience) Here, too, you will practice "listening to pick up points to solve problems" rather than "listening to understand." It's okay if you can't catch everything in English!

English Instructor Mr. Shigeru Shimada Graduated from Sophia University, Faculty of Comparative Culture (now Faculty of Liberal Arts). After working in the travel and web industries, he became an English instructor 11 years ago. Based on his experience of steadily accumulating efforts as a learner and practitioner, he guides English learners of all ages, from junior high and high school students to working adults, towards their goals and dreams.
