UX research refers to the investigation process for understanding and improving the user experience of products and services. In this seminar series, American Matt Penna, who has over 25 years of experience in UX design, will serve as the lecturer, explaining UX research methods over five sessions.

The first session's theme is 'Planning and Implementation of Usability Testing,' and the second session's theme is 'Information Architecture and User Interviews.' Let's deepen your specialized knowledge of UX research and acquire practical skills.

<Seminar Content> Vol.1: May 22 (Fri) 'Planning and Implementation of Usability Testing' First, you will understand the differences between qualitative and quantitative research methods and learn their respective characteristics. Next, you will identify when to use exploratory research, evaluative research, and generative research, and learn which methods are suitable for which situations. We will also cover how to clearly define research goals, objectives, and key questions. Detailed explanations will be provided on screening, incentives, and logistics for effectively recruiting usability test participants. Furthermore, you will learn how to create a research plan, including timelines, budgets, and resources. We will also touch upon the implementation methods for both moderated and unmoderated tests, and introduce specific techniques such as interviews, usability tests, and surveys. Finally, we will explain how to use tools and platforms for remote and in-person research.

Vol.2: May 29 (Fri) 'Information Architecture and User Interviews' You will learn techniques to select and implement the optimal research method according to project challenges. We will explain tools for gaining practical user insights, regardless of project constraints or timelines, by experiencing various research methods such as information architecture research, interviews, surveys, and A/B testing.
