CREOK and Aucfan Form Capital and Business Alliance

CREOK Inc. (Headquarters: Koto-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yoshio Sakurai; hereinafter "CREOK"), which provides support for live commerce/social commerce centered on TikTok Shop, has received investment from Aucfan Inc. (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shuichi Take-naga; hereinafter "Aucfan"), which operates the market search service "Aucfan" and the BtoB transaction platform "NETSEA" and promotes D2X commerce, and will commence a capital and business alliance with the company.

Through this alliance, the two companies will combine their achievements and know-how cultivated in the TikTok Shop/live commerce domain to work on building new sales models for used items, pre-owned luxury brands, and the like.

The investment amount and shareholding ratio will not be disclosed as per mutual agreement between the two companies.

1. Background of the Alliance

Previous Efforts by Both Companies

CREOK operates numerous TikTok Shop accounts, including the "CREOK_official" account, and possesses practical know-how in TikTok Shop operations, live streaming, content production, and creator utilization.

Furthermore, utilizing "CREOK LAB," a dedicated live streaming base for TikTok Shop, CREOK provides integrated services including live stream design, streaming operations, short video production, creator training, and operational support for companies.

On the other hand, the Aucfan Group is promoting a live commerce business utilizing TikTok Shop as a new sales channel in the D2X commerce domain. On TikTok Shop, they operate "NETSEA MallLive," "Sancho Channel," and others, with sales increasing by over 150% quarter-on-quarter, accumulating achievements in the live commerce field.

They are also engaged in short video streaming using generative AI, and are verifying methods for sales promotion, continuous revenue generation, and monetization by combining live streaming and short videos.

Expansion of the Live Commerce Market and Affinity with Reuse Items

In recent years, purchasing behavior in e-commerce has expanded beyond search-driven purchases to include discovering products through social media content and live streams, and making purchases on the spot.

Amidst this trend, TikTok Shop is expanding its mechanism where viewers can check products in real-time and participate in purchases through LIVE streaming. Additionally, the "LIVE Auction" feature has been released in the Japanese market, offering a new participatory shopping experience where viewers can bid and purchase in real-time through live streaming (※).

Used items and pre-owned luxury brands each differ in condition, rarity, price, and the story behind them. Therefore, CREOK believes that live commerce, which involves carefully conveying the appeal of products through live streams and connecting with viewers through two-way communication, has a high affinity with this domain.

Goals of This Alliance

Through this alliance, CREOK aims to build new sales models for used items and pre-owned luxury brands by combining CREOK's know-how in TikTok Shop operations, live stream design, content production, and creator utilization with the Aucfan Group's practical knowledge accumulated through its live commerce business on TikTok Shop in multi-account operations, product supply, and streaming/sales channel design, as well as its sales support capabilities utilizing knowledge and data on the distribution of used items and pre-owned luxury brands, and market data.

Both companies have achievements in the TikTok Shop/live commerce domain, and this alliance is an initiative to further expand the sales potential of used items and pre-owned luxury brands by mutually leveraging each other's strengths.

Furthermore, while considering the potential of features such as live streaming, short videos, and LIVE auctions, they aim to create a new market in the reuse distribution by providing a different purchasing experience from conventional e-commerce through carefully conveying the condition, rarity, and background story of each product.

3. Future Outlook

Through this alliance, they will accumulate know-how in selling used items and pre-owned luxury brands utilizing TikTok Shop/live commerce by conducting sales verification in Japan.

Japanese used items are expected to be in demand not only in the domestic market but also in overseas markets due to their quality and good preservation. In the medium to long term, they will consider creating new trade flows to deliver high-quality Japanese used items and pre-owned luxury brands to domestic and international consumers, with an eye toward cross-border e-commerce and collaboration with overseas sales channels.
