Creema Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kotaro Marubayashi), which operates Japan's largest handmade marketplace "Creema" and develops creator empowerment businesses, has decided to hold the first Osaka edition of the "HandMade In Japan Fes' (HMJ)" as the first step in expanding the event nationwide, following 18 successful editions at Tokyo Big Sight since 2013.
The two-day event, "HandMade In Japan Fes' Osaka," will be held on Saturday, December 12, and Sunday, December 13, 2026, at INTEX Osaka (Suminoe-ku, Osaka City).
HMJ Official Website
It is one of Japan's largest creator festivals, bringing together creators engaged in creative activities from all over the country to exhibit and sell their original works. Inside the venue, unique booths set up by 3,000 creators* selected from a public call from across the nation will be lined up. The space offers a creative experience for the five senses through a variety of content: a market exhibiting and selling everything from fashion items like accessories and bags to interior goods, kitchenware, art, ceramics, and handicrafts; workshops where you can experience the craftsmanship of traditional artisans and popular creators; a music stage featuring notable artists; and carefully selected handmade food. *Total number of exhibitors over Saturday and Sunday during the Tokyo event.
Starting with the first Osaka event, further city expansions are confirmed for 2027.
Launched at Tokyo Big Sight in 2013, "HandMade In Japan Fes'" has been held twice a year (summer and winter) since 2019, accumulating 18 editions to date. The number of visitors from both domestic and international locations continues to grow; the previous summer event recorded the highest number of visitors since the pandemic, and the winter event broke the all-time attendance record. As one of Japan's premier craft events, HMJ has spread the appeal of creator works and new forms of shopping connected by sensibility, and there have been many requests to hold the event in various regions.
In response to this growing attention, the nationwide expansion has begun, with Osaka selected as the first destination. At HMJ Osaka, in addition to HMJ's unique and diverse content such as markets and workshops full of creator individuality, there will also be exclusive projects limited to Osaka.
*Applications for exhibiting creators are scheduled to begin in July 2026, with ticket sales starting in September.
Starting with this Osaka event, we plan to hold the event in other areas in 2027 (details to be announced later). HMJ will continue to evolve as a place where people can experience the charm of creator works and craftsmanship, dedicating our efforts to further expanding craft culture.
